yup! xanga's pretty kickass!
there's more of a sense of "community" in xanga compared to other blogging websites.

I joined Xanga after I went to college to keep up with all my friends back home. From there, I met other people. Sure, I was wooed away by Myspace for a time, and Facebook is still a new, shiny trinket, but I recently found my way back here. That seems to always happen.

I'm mostly just here to read people's views on life, and rant about such things as politics, religion, and, well, life. Mostly politics so far but that's just because of recent events I think, I'll eventually get off my high horse and write about other things.

haha. I just roam to a different account, I keep my other ones though, I like to see if people can figure out if I still have the same writing style and word choice. I find it entertaining.

I was welcomed here in Xanga (if I'm not mistaken) just last 11/3.  From then on, I felt the heartwarming community of bloggers...different views, perspective, opinions, facts, humor..and I learn a lot from each and every blogging day here ^ _ ^

I love xanga too, nice poetry once in a while too :)

i started off on blurty, but switched to xanga when people started complaining about the honesty in my posts.  "honesty is the best policy"... right, only if it doesn't offend anyone.  i realize the irony of a weblog, the paradox that it's YOUR private thoughts and YOUR opinions but still posted for the community at large to see.  i may not always be politically correct but i'm honest here.  it's about the only place where i could do that.  anyway, had xanga for a while and it's all been a positive experience.  plus, as i have discovered, xangans are a proud lot.  we have our own niche that doesn't necessarily conform with society's standards, but people are free to be themselves here.  our community may have differing opinions on all sorts of subjects, but i think it's safe to say that there's a mutual respect for one another.  THAT is the kind of world i wanna live in.

Some help for you:  Click on your username that is on the top right of your page near the credits.  Then, look on the LEFT column for a lot of things that are only visible to you when you are logged in.  You should see something like this...

Good luck on Xanga.  It's a pretty cool site and more or less what you make of it.  Sometimes people stalk, but there are a few controls you can set:  XangaLock, FriendsLock, protected posting, etc.  You can find out more about those through Xanga help.  Or just ask one of the millions of us users.  I think most people are helpful.  Then again, I'm an optimist.  So be careful too.

Otherwise, Under the "Your site" Module on your left side, there should be a link that either says "edit theme" or "browse themes"

I only have a Xanga, don't have anything else.For me it's just sorta of a thinking place. I don't mess with it much. It's like everything here, you have good honest people and you have jerks and users/trolls, whatever you wanna call them. You have to be careful anywhere on the internet.

I have a MySpace I rarely look at and I mess with Facebook some and I have a blogspot I only got to comment on a friends. I just like the way xanga is laid out myself, maybe because xanga is where I first learned how to blog,

I blog on my.barackobama.com in addition to Xanga, but like every other blogging site, it doesn't seem to be a good place for meeting people. You just blog, read some other posts, then sign out.

If there's another blog site like Xanga, with such a sense of community, I'm not aware of it.

I really only use Xanga to talk to my 2 best friends and they usually don't say much, so it's nice to meet new people on here.

In response to your post, I have found many features of Xanga to be far superior to other blogging sites. Less ads, less competition for popularity, freedom of thought, meaninful discussions on serious topics, very open layout customization...the list goes on and on. That's why I've stayed on here so long.
